It
was all fun and cheers yesterday on top Rockefeller’s Tower as the winner of
the Women’s US Open Championship, Flavia Pennatta showcased to the world her pride
and honour, the trophy she won at the just concluded US Open.
Flavia Pennatta who was highly elated, thanked her supporters worldwide for huge support she received during championships. She was joined at the event by her fiance, Fabio Fognini who put up an unexpected appearance according to Pennatta to celebrate her first and last Grand Slam. Fabio Fognni, also a tennis pro did not make much progress during the US Open but came from the rear to upset Rafeal Nadal’s bid.

Flavia Pennatta, an Italian defeated the
foe of Serena Williams, Roberto Vinci on Saturday to become the champion of the
U.S. Open tennis women's singles championship.
On
records, Pennetta, the women's World No. 26, made a extraordinary run to the
final, beating world No. 4 Petra Kvitova and No. 2 Simona Halep in the
semi-final along the way to the Saturday’s final. She defeated long-time friend
and countrywoman Roberta Vinci to win her first career major title.
In the men’s category, Novak Djokovic
defeated Roger Federer on 6-4, 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 to become world no 1 on Sunday.
