Against the widely held view of a possible hung parliament, the Britons surprised by contradicting all available forecast and popularly held figures by voting overwhelming for the Consevative Party. The party won an outright majority as against its marginal edge over Labour in 2010 that necessitated prolonged alliance formation talks and installation of a coalition government headed by David Cameron and the exit of the then Prime Minister, Gordon Brown.
Recent improvement in the economy has been touted though not strongly by some analysts as possible one of high selling point of David Cameron 's five (5) years in the 10 Downing Street.
