Democratic Party Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Muazu on Thursday night, April 23rd,
2015 in Umuahia, Abia State hinted All Progressive Congress (APC) and the incoming
administration of General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) to expect and prepare for a
stiff opposition from him and his party.
Muazu
who said he was in Umuahia, Abia State on a courtesy visit to the Governor of
the state, Theodore Orji, noted “We will give them a tough time by the grace of
God. APC will know that PDP Chairman is an attack dog from May 29”.
On
the poor outing and dismal performance of his party in the just concluded 2015
general elections, the PDP Chairman accepted responsibility for the lackluster performance
of his party at the 2015 polls but promised that the party under his watch will
rebrand, strategise and bounce back to power come 2019.
“PDP
National Working Committee (NWC) will rebrand and reposition the party to
reclaim it dominant and enviable position in the Nigerian sociopolitical landscape.
NWC will study and analyse, individual and collective mistakes during last
elections to strategise for subsequent elections in Nigeria” The National
Chairman of PDP said this while fielding questions from journalists.
On
political crisis rocking Abia State, Muazu expressed concerns over attempt to manipulate
PDP’s victory during the gubernatorial and State House of Assembly polls in the
state.
Muazu,
accompanied by the duo of Uche Secondus, the Deputy National Chairman of PDP
and Olisa Metuh, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, vowed that PDP
will resist vigorously any attempt to deny the party its victory in that
election.
