Mayweather and Pacquiao WBC Bout: The Biggest in Recent Time



Much has been reported and said about the World Boxing Championship title clash between the two famous boxers, Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. The fight billed for May 2nd, 2015 has been dubbed, The Biggest Boxing Bout in Recent Time and has generated much attention and expectations from the boxing fans around the world.

The build up to the lifting of $1million WBC belt encrusted with more than three (3) thousand miniature emeralds necessitating traveling with its own security details has been marked by disagreements, contract signing and promo events.

Probably due to speculative and margin trading activities, all tickets (about 14,000) were reportedly sold-out seconds after they were made available on Thursday, April 23rd, 2015. Before now, disagreements between the two camps led to the delay in the sales of tickets, in terms of contract modification, for a title clash contract that has been announce February this.

Bob Arum, the boss of Top Ranking Promotion and promoter of Pacquiao said he had to fight tooth and nail to get a fair deal for Manny Pacquiao while the Floyd Mayweather camp appear to be getting a robust deal out of the scheduled WBC bout. This perceived inequality spurned disagreements and new round of talks and negotiations over the contract of the title bout that has been viewed as the most significant in the history of the sport.

As the whole world awaits the outcome of the fight between the two famous boxers on Saturday, May 2nd, 2015 many analysts and keen watchers of the sport will continue to analyse and voice out the likely direction the title fight may take but a winner is sure to emerge May 2nd and until that happens let the talks and forecasts continue.
