Apple Wearable Gadgets Debut with Low Supply against high Consumer Demands and Expectations

Apparently responding to pre-launch try on sessions and order opportunities’ curiosity, the launch of Apple Watches on Friday came with high consumer demands and expectations that stores and supply chain could not meet resulting in consumers and intending buyers’ frustration worldwide. The grand debut of the wearable communication gadgets manufactured by Android and iPhone market leader, Apple hit global phones market Friday, April 24th, 2015.

Apple Watches, according to New York Times, were reportedly available for the debut in six designated stores across Europe, East Asia and America. The media giant named;   
               
1.      London – Dover street market
2.      France – Collete, Paris
3.      Italy - Dover street market
4.      Italy – 10, Corso cuno
5.      USA – Maxfield, Los Angeles, as designated stores for the Apple gadgets launch. 

Media space worldwide for some time has been awash with reports of upcoming debut of Apple Wearable communication gadgets since apple made public its intention to hit market with watches, headsets and others wearable communication gadgets. The fun-fare filled marketing strategy that preceded the launch Apple wearable gadgets drove consumers’ curiosity and expectations beyond Apple market supply leading to shortfall in products availability across the world. Apple management probably did envisage the high demand drove by strong promotion and high market’s curiosity for its debuting gadgets. 

When approached, a staff in one of the listed above stores disclosed that the store has less than 1000 units of the gadgets in its stocklist.  Millions of the coveted products that come in different designs, shapes, sizes, and colours were sold before Friday debut on pre-order platform. 

Early in the morning on Friday, clearly spurned by pre-launch promos, curious Britons were seen at London Covent Garden peering inquisitively through showroom glasses containing dozens or more of Apple watches.
Months of robust promotion and gadgets variety crated high consumer demand and curiosity Apple stock could not meet as many intending consumers and buyers who placed order a month before are yet to receive their goods. 



In terms of cost, Apple Wearable comes in different makes such as plastic straps, heft and bling quotient as well as prices that ranges from $390 to $10,000 depending on designs. The gadgets with multi-features can cost more if they come in gold or silver custom designs. 

Samsung China launched its own version of wearable some weeks back and Huawei is expected to enter China market and others soon. How Apple management respond to the present demand profiles for its gadgets will go a long way in determining its control of this emerging technology market as it has done with android, iPhones and smartphones brands but high demand weak or low supply will keep prices high hence encourage competitors to encroach.
