Americans were officially represented by Vice President Joe Biden, his wife, Jill Biden, their granddaughters (Natalie and Hunter) and President Obama’s youngest daughter Sasha in Vancouver, Canada on Sunday during the USA-Japan Women World Cup 2015 final encounter.
Though the match ended
5-2 in favour of the United States women led by their captain, Carli Lloyd, the
presence of the US First and Second Families added official glamour and spurn
the USA Team to victory as Vice President Biden walked majestically on the
pitch to congratulate the young American women that had made their country
proud in this year’s FIFA Women World Cup tournament in Canada.
In another match played
earlier between England and Germany to determine the third place team ended 1-0
after Fara Williams scored a controversial penalty kick in the extra-time to
defeat the Germans 1-0 in Edmonton, Alberta.

The presentation of
medal, awards and trophy marked the climax of the three weeks plus footballing
event and the ovation was loudest when Carli Lloyd, the US skipper, lifted the trophy.
The next FIFA Women
World CUP comes up 2019 in France. In March 2015, France won the right to host
the event, the first time the country would host the tournament and the third
time in Europe. Matches are planned for eleven cities across France for 24
