Why Chelsea won the 2015 Premier League Championship

To close watchers of Premier League matches, Chelsea right from the beginning of the season has demonstrated its determination to take the title this season and had consistently position itself for last Sunday’s triumphant glory that is to be crowned again as champion as, it was in 1955, 2005, 2006 and 2010. 

Matches record for this season revealed supremacy of Chelsea, the club has spent 253 days at the top of the Premier League table, according to Phil McNulty, BBC’s Stamford Bridge correspondent. The opportunity it had last in the winning days of 2005-06 and so far recently only Manchester United in 1993-94 for 262 days has had the same dominance on the Premier League Table.

The season Premier League crowning last Sunday is Mourinho’s  third title as Chelsea Manager and the first in his second spell as Stamford Bridge team boss. McNulty said: the league title this season is the Chelsea's fifth top-flight title and comes five years after their last and 60 years since their first.

This recently introduced game pattern has also irked some football enthusiasts and staunched criticisms had followed Mourinho’s defensive tactics. The defensive pattern equally paid-off on Sunday, as it saved Chelsea from the onslaught of visiting Crystal Palace players who refused to concede any goal until Eden Hazard helped Chelsea carried the day.
