Tim
McGraw has some disappointed fans in California. The country
superstar has been forced to cancel the final shows of his Shotgun Rider Tour
after doctors placed him on vocal rest.
McGraw
broke the news in a post to Facebook on
Friday (Sept. 18), revealing that he would be unable to play his concert that
night at the Shoreline Amphitheatre at Mountain View in Mountain View, Calif.
and his Sept. 19 show at Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre in Irvine, Calif.
“This is so disappointing to me. We’ve had such a great summer, and I was looking forward to this final weekend with the fans in California,” he says. “I appreciate the support and look forward to coming back soon. The word ‘can’t’ is just not in my DNA. If there was any way I could sing, I would do it.”
According
to the post, fans can receive refunds for the canceled shows through their
original point of purchase. McGraw
recently announced the upcoming release of his 14th studio album, Damn Country Music, which is due Nov. 6. The
lead single from the project, “Top of the World,” is currently at country radio.
The
Friday Night Lights premiere in 2004 was also Faith and Tim's 8th
wedding anniversary, and they (adorably) blew out the candles on their cake
together to celebrate! |
The album — which McGraw co-produced with longtime collaborator Byron
Gallimore — also features collaborations with Big
& Rich on “California” and McGraw and Faith
Hill‘s daughter, Gracie, on “Here Tonight,” which the pair debuted live at McGraw’s recent concert in
Nashville.
